An Introduction To Writing Poetry

By: Hazel Hogan Poetry

Over the course of six weeks this series of workshops will aim to explore the manner in which poems are written, read, and edited. Workshops will feature generative exercises, analysis and discussion, through which you will become familiar with your own poetic concerns and tastes.

Participants will  engage in learning how to workshop each others work and learn how to give constructive feedback to one another in an aim to provide an impactful and engaged learning enviroment.

This is a six-week long in depth poetry workshop, catered for all levels and abilities, led experienced poets Hazel Hogan.

The aim of the workshops would be to delve into the craft of poetry and the makings of a poem, and to learn through analysis and generative workshopping. Over the five weeks, you will gain a greater understanding of your work, your personal strengths and areas in which you can improve upon.

Through the six weeks, we will explore the poets toolbox and the makings of a poem.

It will be led on a weekly zoom meeting.

The group will be a small size, to offer maximum attention to each student and their work, from the facilitators.
